Beth Hoyt (born Elizabeth Hoyt) is an actor, comedian, host, writer, and youtuber living in New York originally from Manitowoc, Wisconsin and born as a mermaid.

 

She currently works as the host and writer of My Damn Channel Live and is best know internationally for video blogs on youtube under the username Bethinshow.

 

She moved to Manhattan after graduating from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Theater Performance in 2005. In 2006 she moved to Brooklyn, and was cast in a new Christopher Durang play at The Flea Theater. This is the same time that she was host of Funny Pet News on Zootoo TV.

 

Beth continued to do more theater at the Flea and worked with Clubbed Thumb and New Georges and again with Christopher Durang in a new piece at 59E59 Theater. She spent a lot of time in the theater with Reggie Watts and Tommy Smith in Radio Play (Seattle’s Bumbershoot Festival, in NYC at Ars Nova and PS 122) and in the play Transition (Portland’s TBA Festival, Seattle’s On The Boards, and NYC’s Under the Radar Festival at The Public Theater).

 

Beth also started a comedy storytelling series night called NutSackett that happened every other Wednesday night at a bar called The Sackett which planted the seeds for her later weekly comedy "Big Effing Deal! show" with BFF Trish Nelson, which started 15th feb 2011 and still goes today.

 

Beth created the web series Shut Up, Beth! with Trish Nelson. She appears in "Jenny and Reggie" and the web series "Gay’s Anatomy". Beth has a few lines in The Bachelorette is in some commercials and has written for Brokelyn.com. In 2012, Beth mostly wrote and hosted "My Damn Channel Live" weekly shows while doing Big Effing Deal!, appeared in 1 or 2 commercials for Food Lion, vlogged on her youtube channel 2 days per week in which she continues today.

 

In 2013 she also did a few different things like host Youtube's comedy week and answer the phones and interacted with the hosts Weird Al Yankovic and Shannon Coffey on the Live 2013 Bonnaroo Lineup Announcement Megathon, landed a role in the short movie Ving Rhames, was nominated for a IAWTV Award for Best Host (Live) and managed to find time to do some more theater and films and the off-off broadway show "Death For Sydney Black", her role in the comedy "Maybe There's a Tree", her role in Mtv's "Teachers' Lounge" and an episode of "Inside Amy Schumer".

 

She also did several collaborations with other youtube content creators and her usual vlogs on her Bethinshow youtube account. On 21st December 2013 Beth passed 20k subscribers on her youtube account Bethinshow ahead of expected projections due to her fans wanting to give her a viewer milestone for a christmas present which was helped enormously by friend and fellow youtuber Franchesca Ramsey (aka chescaleigh) giving her a twitter shoutout .
